SDAFF 2011 = Disappointing.

To whom it may concern:

My friend and I had purchased tickets online to see “Norwegian Wood” tonight (7:45 pm screening). We arrived on time, and low and behold, the seats were sold out! Congratulations on such a GREAT turn out!!! We came to find that our seats were sold to others who had purchased them at the door. I understand that the only restriction that you have is that “refunds [are] not available,” but there is no notice anywhere that reserves the right to sell our seats, especially when we purchased them and showed up to see the film.

I am disappointed that San Diego Asian Film Foundation would allow such unethical conduct by selling seats that were already purchased. This is a problem on the part of your organization, because there is no accountability of who actually purchases tickets ahead of time. I would think such an organization would want to provide better consideration for online ticket purchasers by providing a will call option after an online purchase to better mediate the amount of tickets actually sold to the public, and to provide options for customer dissatisfaction. I will not and do not want to support an organization that takes my money and runs, while making more money on purchased empty seats.

I will be sure to let my friends know about your restrictions.

Sincerely,
Eva Lu
